The Second Kosovo War

Below is a post I recently published on our Facebook Group page for Kosovo For Christ. For those who follow us here on the blog, look us on Facebook if you want. We'd love to hear from you! Without further delay...

Hey everyone! First, I want to thank all of you that have joined our group. You have no idea how encouraging it is to Lindsey and I to see so many of you, our friends and family, showing us your support through something like this. Always remember that ANY amount of encouragement you can give to any missionary is well received and always needed.

The topic of the article I am going to leave you with has begun to radically change the way I will be praying in the future with regards to the whole “process” Lindsey and I find ourselves in as we try to “get to the field” as fast as we can. We've still got a ways to go in the fundraising department. However, we have already given that over to God and we trust that He is leading us in His perfect timing. But...well, reading articles like this make me impatient. They leave me looking into the heavens (as if God doesn't already see all of this) saying, "Hey!! You see this?! These radicals are already getting down to business, and I'm just sitting here updating a blog and playing phone tag with pastors!"

We have the opportunity of a lifetime to...now seriously...think about this just for a sec... We have the opportunity to alter the destiny of an entire nation by reaching ONE generation with the life saving and transforming love of Jesus Christ. Over 70% of Kosovo's population is younger than me, and I'll be 27 on Thursday. There is a major spiritual void in the hearts of nearly 95% of Kosovo's over 2 million people. They have been saying they’re Muslim, because for centuries, that's what they've been told they are. But now, partly as a result of their fresh independence from Serbia, they're beginning to question if they really are Muslim or not. They're hearts are wide open and unguarded as they look for the truth and it scares me to no end when I think about what could become accepted as truth and what could shape that nation only because the truth of Christ is not being made known.

Honestly, I would feel horribly selfish if I continued to ask for you to pray that we have success in raising money. So don't...if God has it all planned out, and we continue to walk in obedient faith, then why do you all need to pray for money, money, money?? We don't have time to pray for things that are already taken care of. We don't have time for half-hearted, on the way to work, just before we fall to sleep, bored at our office kind of prayers. All we have time for...all YOU have time for are the kinds of prayers mentioned in James 5:16.

Family, we're in a race for souls in the nation of Kosovo, and the worst part is we're already behind. So when you pray, pray simply that God will stem the growing tide of radical Islam in Kosovo, pray for supernatural boldness and unity among the followers of Christ there, pray that love of Jesus Christ, that is better than life itself, will be so real to them that they will not be lead astray by those who use intimidation or bribery. Remember, Kosovo is one of, if the poorest country in all of Europe. Its unemployment rate is over 40%, and the radicals there do and will continue use the promise of food, money, security, etc…to ensnare the hearts and minds of this vulnerable people.

Thank you all again for all your prayers, encouragement, and support. Knowing that you all have our backs, truly means more than either you will know or I can say. God bless you all!

Oh! And without further adieu…the link to the article I mentioned way, way at the beginning of my post. Boy I went on longer than I thought…
