Church Travels Update - February

With the double shot espresso now in full effect, I fully intend to bring all our faithful readers all the way to the here and now of the warm rays of sun I feel on my face as I sit here at the C3 cafe listening to the sweet, comforting laughter and conversation of moms and little sons and daughters at the table next to me.

February has been a month of great success in comparison to the previous, successful in terms of meetings scheduled, funds raised, etc.. But also in the area of spiritual growth and transformation. More on that in a bit.

For now, read on...

TRUE Hope in High Point

I'll be good and leave politics, beyond the veiled "poke" of the above title, out of my postings. I just couldn't resist. With Lindsey at home nursing a terrible sinus infection, I set off to High Point, NC and Hope Outreach Center pastored by Randall Reece. For those that don't know, Randy was an associate pastor at the church Lindsey and I attend - Raleigh First Assembly before he left to plant Hope Outreach Center in High Point.

Their church is doing an absolutely amazing job at reaching out to their community with the pure and life bringing love of Jesus Christ. And it isn't just the adults getting involved, their getting the children involved as well. While I was there they advertised an outreach event where the children were selling tickets to raise money to buy all the ingredients of a yummy sub sandwich. The children would then prepare them, and going along with the adults in the church, they would take them to the homeless and the hungry. No spending hours in front of a computer or Nintendo Wii for these kids, they are busy about the Father's work. The church also ministers to the hungry and needy through a food pantry that was born of the dream of one of their members, and their exploding youth ministry numbers nearly 100 every week.

As you can see from the photos below, they have tremendous room for growth that the Lord will no doubt bring, and soon I believe.

Quick hits...

We met with Pastor Bruce Ritter from Christian Life Center in Gibsonville, and we'll be attending their Missions Convention in April. We enjoyed a wonderful service and lunch with Greg and Lisa Davenport from Vineyard Assembly in Sanford. We'll be attending their Missions Convention in May. And I'm meeting with Glen Lee from Church Alive in Fuquay Varina tomorrow.
